I'm stuck fishing from the shore, how do I get decent bites?
Chad Morgenthaler
I am one of the un-lucky ones with out a boat so I am stuck with shore fishing. The rough part is I live around the finger lakes in southern NY and almost every acre of land has got a house or private land so my fishing area is limited so I need just some general advice on how to get decent bites.

Answer:
One of the best tools for casting long distances and working deep or shallow water is a shaky head rig and a spinning rod. Use a 6 or 8-lb test line with a 1/8-ounce head. For baits use a 4-inch finesse worm or a trick worm. Green Pumpkin is a great color, especially for clear water. Rig it weedless, make long casts, and work the bait slowly along the bottom.
Good luck!
